Also, I think the factory refers to them as 13b's, even though they have the dual finned G-series compressor wheel, so maybe if you search 13b turbo you'll find something. More than likely just a lot of RX-7 stuff though.

No actually you are wrong. I was correct. This is a 1g automatic turbo. Clearly not the same one as he posted in the original post.


This is the bastard turbo that has no name. I know this because my brother has one at the shop and the mistu turbo list my dad has on his computer, which was sent to him BY MITSUBISHI via email.

But thanks guysAll i know is it fits my DSM adaptor plate has the DSM o2 housing and Is prettyu damn small lol, Got it free has NO shaft play, So i was just looking for some specs on it since i cant find any tdo4hl info besides the Volvo one and id imagine that one is different.

Hitchhiker wtfbbq?! The one on the bottom is a TD04HL-13G-5 right? The bottom picture is a 13g off a 1G auto correct? That's the same one the OP has am I right? The one with simply TD04 stamped on the compressor housing is the bastard turbo yeah? In your original post you said the bottom one was the bastard turbo. Am I wrong? It happens on occasion ( ) but I if the one with just TD04 stamped is the bastard turbo then that's the one you were claiming was Mitsu. Or was it the other way around? All I know is that IMO the turbo that is a TD04HL is the OEM 1G auto turbocharger. So you still could be wrong my friend, but there is the rare possibility that I am wrong. Ah ---- it all.

Mitsu goes by part #'s. And honestly im not sure what the call the tdo4l non-subaru bastard turbo in DSM land, and I dont really care. I do know that the last 3 4g63 motor/trans that my brother has had at the shop, had this turbo attached to them.

They are different compressors. The comp housing and comp wheel have physical size differences which the pics dont really show. The exducer diameters of the comp wheel are also different.

Regardless, Id rather not turn this into an arguement, but I just wanted clarity in this matter, because these turbos do exist, and there is far too much mis-information on the interweb anyway.

To the OP: this turbo will be fine to use in sub-200hp applications, but at levels above that, its life will be significantly shortened.

Well Im really only looking to run around *psi out of it to a stock D16z6 So im guessing around 160-170whp so I think it should be fine for awhile Dont you? I mean I knew this turbo was going to be a little iffy on the top end but It was free so i mean hard not to use it since its in such good shape, and im really just looking for more umph out of my z6 till i can get my spare motor built and in but thank you for all the information,I cant wait to see what this lil thing spools like it should be fun on the bottem end lol.

Yes I only want 160whp from a stock Z6 I am in the process of getting a A6 block with a spare Z6 head built to withstand more boost from either a GT28 or a GT30 I havent decided which one yet. But for now I just need something more fun to drive than a stock Z6 swap.
