Default I/C location question

I have what seems to be a probe i/c, it wont fit anywere but in the battery location of my rex. at this point I don't want to cut the car to fit the I/c. would putting the ic in taht location with a fan below it pushing air still be effective or is it a waste of time

A fan under the hood will work some but not very well. You would be better of using an air to water intercooler.
