hey all

i can't find the fuel pump on my 87 crx, i tore the ---- out of the back and got it down to bare metal... it doesn't look like the pump is in the same place as in a 88+

anyone have some info?

yeah i just found it, sucks that it is not accessible from inside the car, i have to drop the tank

You don't have to drop the tank and it is on the outside. On my 86 Si it is located in the rear, driver side wheel well on the side closer to the front of the car. You will have to pull the wheel off but that's about it. It's tight in there but it has been done because I did it.

I am not sure if it is this way on every other 1st gen si because mine was kind of rebuilt.......the whole rear quarter was cut out and a Dx hatch, quarter, bumper etc. are there. I guess someone before me got blasted in the rear.

yeah, you're right someone on the resource said it was on TOP OF THE TANK, but i went under and looked and it sits way up by the wheel well, all the fittings are typical honda style, where if you put a diff pump it you would have to get all new fittings, so i haven't fucked with it yet...

Me and a friend of mine just ghetto fitted a walbro mustang fuel pump on a Swift GTi a few weeks ago...workt perfectly . Looked awful though had it holding on homemade clamps and ----...

I'm telling you don't even bother getting a larger pump, you don't need it until you start pushing 250hp.

It's funny how I see the same people here and on the ricesource.....I mean resource.

The swift is pushing over 200 hp now running a K26/K27 hybrid @ 12 psi

bob kennedy aka fastest stock internal 1st gen crx, runs his OEM fuel pump with 450cc injectors at 14psi
