a fmu is good for ------- stuff up or less than 5psi, i doubt it was tuned very well if it went at 7psi, and theres no way to tune a fmu well

Ummmm, I'm sure I mentioned more than an FMU.....and like I said it was stock internals and the guys who tuned it like to run alot of timing.

ngk plugs dont count as good engine manegment 310 injectors are not enough and a fmu sucks, I dont even understand whay he had a fmu if he had a afc. but what ever

Beau

ps the timing would explain the brocken ring lands but not a melted piston.

yes it would. it was a combination of overly advanced timing, high compression, injectors that were too small coupled w/ inadequate fuel delivery. running 7 lbs on those small injectors, fuel pressure went up w/ the FMU and amt of fuel getting to the motor probably dropped. then he probably leaned out pretty bad, EGT's went through the roof and he kept on it and melted the piston. at least thats what i think. im surprised a rod didnt go first.

I listed the NGK plugs as they are 8's which are a colder plug which DOES reduce the chance of detonation.
