There is no need for a thicker head gasket.

Thanks for all the info. I will be running a bigger fuel pump and injectors with a FMU and intercooler so I think im going to do 7 or 8 psi.

With a thicker head gasket you can run more boost but you'll have to run more boost anyways to make up for the compression/power you took out of the motor

FMU+Fuel pump=$200.

For $200 you can socket your ECU, buy a chip burner and get an hour at the dyno......

Uberdata/Turboedit owns you!

I know, but there is still no need for one... 9.2:1 compression is fine. Hondas blow *** already at low rpms so I wouldn't want to take anything away from that.

With a rising rate, Id go 8 but Ive seen as much as 12 hold together.

With good managment on some 450's Id go 10 for sure. Personally Im gonna do 12.

I would run no more than 8 on factory rods and pistons. A buddy of mine ran 10 on a D16z6 with factory internals and when we pulled the rods and pistons out to replace them with wisecos and pauters the rings and lands fell off every piston. It was sickening. You should invest in a good set of low compression pistons and rods.

What's with all this talk about lowering compression? If I ever build my Z6 I would probably up the compression a little bit and run like 9.5:1 pistons. I am going to have to blow my stock Z6 before I build it though.
