im on a budget here and was thinking about just buying one of those ssautochrome kits and not use the turbo and manifold. isnt everything else that comes along with the kit decent? so if i dump the turbo and manifold for like a garret t3/to4e and cc fab manifold would it be a pretty decent turbo kit or just be plain stupid?

 

youd be better of buying a stalthmode oil line kit, one of our sponsores piping kits, and an intercooler from jrc or cca.

 

Thats not a bad idea, I've heard no complains about the intercoolers or charge piping.. however some have complained about hte BOV's and some about the wastegates, and the turbos seem to be a 70/30 chance, a lot of people have been fine with it but some have had problems, and it seems their manifolds are still crap, as Jeff (AbaZ) got one in the mail with the head flange already warped. I'm helping on a build with SSAutochrome using the turbo and manifold from them, so we'll see how it goes. Either way, good luck with your build.

i worked out a Kit using SSAC and qualtiy stuff. SSAC ended up being like 1075 and the quality was like 1500 or so, that is w/ rebuilt turbo. Go with the custom kit.

 

so what parts did you end up keeping and what new ones did you get

 

He didn't, he did his own custom kit instead of buying the SSAC.
