I would use some brake cleaner and stuff like that and let it set out to dry for a day. You could also try soaking it in simple green for a day or two and scrub excess off and let that dry out for a day. I degreased a whole b16 in simple green on time before i built it.

Used a parts cleaner and solvent to clean mine... can you tell we didn't let it dry entirely before TIG welding the 2 sidemounts together?

Gasoline works like a charm.

Is that safe? I don't plan on welding it though, I got a small radiator fan today off of an old accord that I'm going to be running on it as well as a scope I'm making out of hardware store parts, its going where my battery is, I'm doing it to see if it will work, if not than I'll get a front mount. Plus do I have to run coolant to my t25?

I used brake cleaner on mine, flushed it with water, then held a hair dryer on each end for about 15 minutes at a time. Massive amounts of steam.
