How do i know if my turbo is rebuildable??
just a guess
or is there some way of knowing?
its a dsm t25, i'm not gonna rebuild it. just want to know if i can sell it as rebuildable.
it has a pretty good amount of shaft play, in/out and side to side. in and out is prolly like a ------ 1/4" of play.
thanks

it all really depends on how worn the turbine and center section are. sometimes when oil seals go bad or get old, they'll rub the housing to where it wont seat properly, same goes for the turbine. when rebuilt, it will leak oil and smoke
id say if the shaft play hasnt got bad enough to where the turbine has touched either of the housings, and the turbo didnt smoke, it would probably be fair to say it is rebuildable

we dont care about the magic smoke, but with that much in-out play youre prolly gonna need a shaft and new wheels on top of whatever else. Id just quit wasting time and get somthing that isnt soo shot
