I'm with you.

However, I would very much so like to try this. I wouldn't go from RPM because of partial throttle and what not it would only be useful at it's set limit. My Dad mentioned this and I agree and someone before mentioned its RAPID non-dampened closing/opening affect rather than holding true and steady to that desired PSI. To ME, having stable PSI is my only concern. I don't need 2 solenoids to switch high and low.

Can we figure a way to regulate a stable way to hold PSI that it is constant and NOT fluxuating? I'm not electronically inclined. This time last year I said I couldn't boost a car. Well, I did. I'm going to track this thread and learn. I'm in to test and try any solid EBC prototypes we may finalize on. Very good ideas, fellas. Very good.

EDIT: Is there still the necessity to run the MBC with this ALSO? I saw diagrams with them still included. If you figured out how to read the PSI and control it through the solenoid then....?

To make this work with variable wastegate operation and to really be effective and to be physically setup correctly and easy to install, it's going to be a very involved task. It would need it's own mini-forum with individual sections for hardware, programming, formulas, ideas, etc. and it would need the capabilites to upload and download files so everyone can be on the same page. Looking at this project, it's more than I could take on myself and I'm sure most of you guys feel the same or else someone would have done it by now. So it will take the effort of many people to get this to work right.

I just registered www.homemadeboostcontroller.com

Anyone know the absolute cheapest hosting company and some free forum software? I want to get this thing going soon.

You could possibly sign up on sourceforge and call it an open source hardware/software project. I think they host hardware projects as well as software stuff.

I thinks you guys are over thinking this and overshooting the purpase of it being actualy usable while driving. you could run 2 mechanical homemade boost controlers and a button to switch between the two controlers. or you can overcomplicate it. whatever works

and sinner already did what your doing its done and it works

The fact of switching between 2 settings or doing it from in the cabin rather than outside isn't my deal at all. I want a HomeMadeEBC to hold my 10.psi at 10.5psi instead of dropping to the 7psi with my MBC. THAT'S the part we are having trouble with. A NON-Dampening Solenoid.

Well, I'm still shooting for a budget of WAY under the $300 mark. I want it to control accurately and be adjustable. Something just as productive as the one on the Tullos site but much cheaper. Get the first one up and functioning and then make lots of them and even sell "kits" that you could build yourself. Think bottom dollar, yet still functional.
