I think mines are plastic! Can you give me a hint on how to pressurize them? like the best diy way :P hehe

Cheers for you all

Boost reference means that the FPR releases more pressure from the fuel pump to the carbs has boost increases right? This is done by a vacuum line from the intake manifold to the fpr or does it have to be plugged to the turbo?

This max boost book is really helping ! thanks again ppl

Yeah, run a line from the manifold to pressurize the FPR.

The Floats that work best on the holleys are a hard black foam plastic. Hollow brass collapses under very little boost. Never used hollow plastic, but If I had to, I'd try to fill with expanding foam of some sort. Maybe drill a small hole, partially fill and let harden with foam, fill hole with epoxy. I've never tried it, but should work well if done properly. Other than that, on the holleys, I block the power valve and jet accordingly. You might have to mod the enrichment side of things. As in block it and jet it up a few sizes. Not sure how many parts are available for that carb, so you might need to fab up some stuff to make it work, but it is all possible.

Id probably have to make two new butterflies, this is a 2xkeihin setup and i have no idea how much it can be bored, and if i can get butterflies etc. Couldnt i drill the jets to a bigger size if needed?

Im starting low bost like 0.5 tops with a kkk from a golf so that isnt much, try to tune it at that boost, and then a little more...

I was planning on buying a replacement electric fuel pump to the renault 19\5 etc turbo, and put a fuel pressure regulator activated by boost pressure, probably for a top of 0.9\1 bar that fuel pump would be enough right?

Id probably fill my floats with that foam, but it has to be just a bit cuz it expands like hell and it could deform the float or even blow it (like crack it) and that would be ---- lol

Would it be hard to use this carbs with the filled floats before turboing it? If not i could start doing that now.

What do you suggest to be the airbox before the carbs, because they're 2, and 2 tubes would be too much ricer LOL hehe so 1 air hose connecting to a box that is directly bolted to the carbs intakes...what do you think?

you could use those port as the oil feed and pressure sensor i did this exact same set up on my first turbo build with an oil cooler and all...

mabey you could cool the oil before it goes to the turbo and only use one port for the pressure gauge

Hmm thats probably a good idea...but either of them would work well, because the oil cooler would cool all the oil, and the average temperature would go down, if i put it before the turbo it would send colder oil into the turbo, but then the engine would run at the same temperature cuz the turbo would heat it up again...probably, i dont know xD

Hi guys, took my carbs of the car and opened them, and found out one of the guillotines doesnt move, its stuck down....

Other things i found out are :

My carbs have a vacuum line going to their fuel reservoir that seems to press a small string of iron lol i cant really explain very well...neither i could understand it totally..but i hope it makes the fuel mixture richer as the vacuum pressure increases cuz it would help me with boost.

Found out my floats are hollow and i would probably need to fill them out lol...
Also found where my jets are, so if i need to drill them to a bigger size, its easyer now lol...starting to make the airbox to connect the intake tube...im using the golf GTD's one but with a much smaller size, and directly connected to both carbs...i have to make the other guillotine move, i couldnt make it move today cuz there's a fucked up bolt that i cant remove, that is keeping me from opening the top of the carburetor....

heh lots of stuff lol

Got my blow of valve of ebay now, and a fuel pressure regulator and pump...still working on the exhaust manifold, pics soon :P
