Re: home made supercharged legacy wagon
what do you use for managment on a Subaru? Kid at my work has a 90's legacy wagon and really wants to boost it but i have no clue what to do for fuel/spark.

I use the SMT6 Perfect power.
Turns out I needed a new clutch cable..... |
Re: home made supercharged legacy wagon
So how much of a beating do you think a 2.5 dohc ej25 could take? I have to go pick it up yet, but I was given a 97 legacy gt (only runs on 3 cylinders right now...that's why it was free :P) and I think it needs a little boost in it's life after I get it up and running on all 4. ;D That and I would really like to try a manual trans swap on it...freakin auto slushbox in it :-X

Re: home made supercharged legacy wagon
Dynoed today at Torque Freaks Mods ? Engine case 1993 EJ22T Crank, Rods and Pistons New main and rod bearings 2.0 DOHC twin turbo heads and intake manifold 550 STI Yellow Side Feed Injectors 1-1 RRFPR M62 Eaton Supercharger Mishamoto FMIC Perfect Power 6 Running about 11 psi Gave me 190 whp and 212 Torque. This was on TorqueFreaks Dynojet dyno. I tuned it NA as well. 85 whp and 101 torque!!!! The good...... The torque starts at over 200 at 2500 and tapers to 180 at 6000 rpm The good.... Butt dyno says the wagon is much faster and some on ramp runs "proves it". The bad.... Only 190 whp. Really, really expected 200 plus. I blame it on the lower compression. The bad.... I max out the MAF signal at 4500-4750 rpm (4.4 comes it, then modified and comes out at 4.98 or above). This causes me to hit 12.9-13.2 AFRs...... This is with those big injectors.....:( The good..... Even with the AFR jumping from 11-1 to 13-1 at 4500, not a sign of knock. Nitrous is going to be easily handled. I really really wanted to hit 200 whp..... Maybe I just need to go to a higher reading dyno just to say it..... |

Re: home made supercharged legacy wagon
No I didnt, at least a few of them.....
But.... I did finally get the BOV plumbed in right proper. So now I never have excessive pressure once the throttle closes. and I havent blow off a pipe in about a month, and I have been pushing it damn hard. I fixed some injector issues, ie, bad o-rings, bad installation, and retuned the wagon to be running about 11.5-1 AFR on average. There is no doubt it ALOT faster now. I may or may not be 200 whp, but the whole dyno chart will read higher overall. The ---- gets up and goes. For any of you reading this in Portland, I did the Fremont Bridge onramp at 110 mph by the expansion joint. The best on the last motor was 101...... Major difference, and kinda scary at the same time! |
