home made supercharged legacy wagon

today i dropped the vortech fmu for this guy that he bought from me on ebay, i didnt know what was under the hood of the legacy wagon parked in front of me, it has a cool little sticker that says: "you just got beat by a wagon :P " with the smiley and everything, i suspected..... after talking to him he showed me the setup wich is quite creative let me tell ya :y

the ac clutch wich replaces the sc pulley kicks in when he's heavy on the throttle and instantly rams 10 psi off a roll, i saw it revving up and the whine is loud too ;D of course 100% HM as you can see, and no the engine still runs without management, apparently hes putting the fmu asap wich i dont know if its gonna help on this kinda uncommon setup, good luck with the project :y

damn. see. my friend had a set up like that :-[ it looked all cool. but no matter what he did. under any kind of high rev. the belt would fly off. he went through like 7 different types of pulleys. and it still flew off under high rev :-[ he tore apart atleast 3 different belts. before he gave up one day.

i brought up a thread bout a different super charger here.

its a pretty neat idea. and i think it would kick ass if someone could custom fab one. it drives off the alternator pulley. and looks like its nothing more than just a compresser off of a turbo. alot smaller than installing a whole supercharger. but it gets less psi. bleh.

Hey, Thats Mine! ;D

Thanks for the FMU Saxxu.

Yeah, it aint no turbowhachamacallit.

Its an Eaton M62 off a Kompressor series Mercedes. I upgraded my crank pulley to 7.25" so it spins about 2-1 ratio for 9-10 psi. Upgraded injectors to 370cc. Upgraded 6 puck clutch. Currently I have a 1-1 rrfpr which I TRIED to replace with the unit from saxxu, but it was too much psi (12-1, what was I thinking ???)

I went from a stock 100 whp (chp) to about 170-180 whp. I dyno tested on a mustang dyno at 152 whp but that was at 7 psi and 30 psi of fuel pressure and 3.5 spark plugs firing. I am dynoing again this weekend at Torquefreaks in Portland.

I went from a 16.8 average 1/4 et to 14.9. Best et so far is 14.7 at 93.
