home made supercharged legacy wagon

Re: home made supercharged legacy wagon
I'm not worried about keeping it running. Its the damn charge pipes that keep coming off thats a pain in the ***!
The charge pipes themselves can be dealt with, and will be. Its the damn plastic MAF sensor that is really giving me fits. You can only crank the connectors so tight on plastic. I may resort to screwing it on AND T-Bolts.

Re: home made supercharged legacy wagon
Dynoed the wagon out at PRE in Gresham Oregon today.
180 whp and 210 torque at about 10-11 psi
201 whp and 255 torque with a 50 hp nitrous shot and WAY TOO BIG fuel jet.
Had the fuel jet been smaller, I probably would have hit about 220 whp.
Originally this motor was 100 whp, then about 130, then 155, now 180. I am stuck until I install the better heads.
Gonna run out at PIR this weekend and shoot for a 12.99 with nitrous. All boost should be 13.99-14.1

Re: home made supercharged legacy wagon
Yeah I have a Turbo XS BOV. Works pretty well.
Bad news today. I was pretty convinced that I was leaking boost since I am now barely making 10 psi. When I first installed the new crank pulley it was 12-14 psi. So I did some boost pressure tests and found some leaks. Thats the good news.
Bad news......
I somehow fried something and now I get no power to the ECU. dead wagon.
5-7 hours of troubleshooting leave me about 3 miles from fixing it. I barely have a clue what is wrong, other than I need to find WHY there is no power to the ECU. ----!!!!!

Re: home made supercharged legacy wagon
Well.......
I killed another motor.
But I did get a best of 14.3 @ 94 on boost with 1.86 60' times at 12 psi and 13.5 @ 100 with a little bit of nitrous added in.
But then on Friday I cracked a ringland at PIR beating a WRX. managed my best 60' time of 1.845 and a 100 mph trap but the engine seemed to be spouting a tad too much smoke.
So on Sunday I built a new motor.
2.2 NA case
Turbo 2.2 crank, rods and pistons
new main and crank bearings
JDM DOCH heads, intake and injectors
Got it running today and drove around the block.
Whoops, installed the clutch disc backwards (or at least I hope!!!!!) cause something just aint right. Pulling the motor back out tommorrow morning.
Damn!
