Holset WH1C turbo on 5.4v8
This would be on 99 F150 5.4v8.
Right now I'm still looking where to put it. Either in the engine bay or running it where the muffler use to be.
Either way I'll be retaining the 4 catalytic converters and piping to the Y. I would just be routing the piping in the engine bay if I put it there vs where the muffler is so it's easily returned to stock.
I know the WH1C is probably a little to small, but I figured with still using the 4 stock cats, or possibly just 2, the flow wouldn't be to much for the turbo.
I'm only looking to run 5-10psi. No track or pulling use, just for daily driving.
Thoughts, would it be ok to use with either 2 or 4 cats or would it create boost to early and overspin the turbo?
also, still looking at supporting mods. I'll certainly use a FMIC, but I'm open about fuel. I know a lot of kits use the FMU 12/1 with low boost setting like what I'm looking at. Have many of you used them or have you had issues?
Thanks,
