Holy carp that's awesome. $10 heat shield. Hell yeah.

 

Gotta try that. A buddy of mine has a TT supra motor in one of those older model supras. Those turbos had factory heatshields that looked sort of like that. That motor was amazingly cool. You could roast a pig in my engine bay.

you can even add some thermal shield to that

 

---- yeah, wrap up the housing in some exhaust wrap before the shield and that thing will do amazing. I would have made the pan fit the entire way around the turbing with just a cutout for the inlet though.

Maybe use a stainless baking pan for log manifolds? I'll be trying this shortly.
