As far as cooking with the manifold, I remember on the speed channel they were showing world rally racing and they were going up some course that took around 30min to complete. Two of the guys wrapped steak and potatoes in tin foil and wedged it near the engine somehow. When they got to the top it was cooked and they chowed down.

I'd never use it but for the sake of discussion don't you want your manifold to RETAIN heat, not dissipate it, as this manifold was clearly designed to do? And what kind of metal is that? Aluminum? Otherwise it looks like it would flow as well as any Drag mani, with an original design.

EDIT: Okay, I just read that it is "solid steel billet" but if that were the case wouldn't it weigh more than 9 lbs.?
