when i first start my car... even when its 70 degrees out there is smoke comin outta my exhaust.... well when the car actually warms up.... smoke ROLLS outta my exhuast... its pretty thick and is white.. it doesnt smell too bad.. hehe i wafted the exhaust fumes to see if it stunk.... but anway..... this ---- just poors outt.... i have no exhaust leaks under the hood or anything it all just pooors outta the muffler... im guessing its oil cause when i washed my car today when i was done with the back the rag was BLACk..... what iscausing this..... is it the engine? the turbo? bad seal? what can i do to fix this... oh yeah the car did smoke just a little before i put the turbo on but not THIS MUCH.... before i put the turbo on i took it apart and cleaned it.. i didnt rebuild it though.... oh yeah and when i turn my car off at night you can see a little bit of white smoke comin out the tip of the mufler.... like the oil is still burning inside the pipe..... what can i do to fix this!!!!!!

 

What kind of car? Its white smoke? All this happened AFTER you put the turbo on?

Are you getting any pinging/knocking? Do you have an A/F gauge?
My car was doing this, but I was detonating because my plugs were to hot... when you're driving do you hear any noises coming from the engine?
Does it happen at idle? when you're driving? when when when :P

 

ok well if its white smoke and if it doesnt smell bad. there could be cooland getting into the combustion chambers..one time i used a busted intake manifold gasket(stupid,i don't even know what i was thinking) ok well when i cranked up my car white smoke was POURING out of my exhaust..quickly filling up my garage like a fog machine until i couldnt even see... that could prolly also happen from a blown headgasket. BUT in your case..you could have blow the ---- out of ring lands or fried the piston rings.your turbo could have a bad seal.there are soooooooo many different things it could be DO A COMPRESSION TEST!!!! if the compression is fine then you will know your turbo is fucked.

 

if you've got antifreeze in the exhaust (it will still be partially liquid) and the stench of it from the tail pipe then you've got a blown head gasket.

 

oil is blue smoke.

white is water/coolant. do a compression test and a leakdown, if you have the tools.

 

ok guys i did some tests and it is coolant.....im burning coolant like no other.....my engine runs like a dream no pinging or anything....i think i ran my lines wrong... the lines i ran are huge... i have a pic i can post later if you wanna see where i tapped..... but anyway... the people i was talking too said i need colder plugs... colder thermostat different coolant lines ran... try and run barrs stopleak.... and replace the head gasket....it smokes all the time and it smells like coolant... i have to replace my coolant alot and my engine water temp guage varies alot... like sometimes it will be HOT... turn it off then in like 2 min.... it will be back down to normall... i dont get it.....which one do you suggest i do first..? and work my way until i solve it?

 

put a 50 gallong drum of water on your roof with a line into the rad

uhm tap the coolant for your turbo off the intake manifold lines. (EACV i believe)

run bars leak that stuff works wonders sometimes.

but yeah your in for a new HG. no worries cheap fix.

 

can someone take a pic of where i need to run the coolant line off of. cause im not trrying to tap into the wrong place again!.... imma try the barrs.. and if those two dont work then... imma def. get the head. gask.. and i might have some girl do my head for me... hehe.... any other sugeestoins and dont forget the pic...
