With how buzzy Honduhs can be you don't often hear pinging that would be present in other makes. It has something to do with adolescent boy fantasies about chromed mufflers for McPaycheck prices, no flex pipe or resonator because they can't afford that ----.

The original poster still hasn't told us ----. Breaking up, bogging, or rythmic revlimit at 4000? That's all you need to know and he hasn't stated.

Agreed... it's really hard to help someone with a problem when the conversation is ask a question, get one answer, ask another, get another... especially on a message board. In order for us to help you need to tell us what is happening, what the setup is, what exactly you have done to remedy it, and any other necessary info.

Re: help please- turbo crx wont rev past 4000 rpm

alright..... the limit at 4000 is a regulated limit. it doesnt bogg out at 4000 it just wont go past that rpm. i dont get any black smoke or anything like that. just limited rev. i can full throttle boost up to that point, then at 4000 it just bounces off. it will bounce off 4000rpm in neutral and while driving. its doesnt bogg out after i stop reving it, the rpms just drop normaly to idle rpm. theres no studder, backfire, detonation. it just wont go past 4000 rpm. otherwise, with the starter problem fixed, the car runs really good like it did before i stored it. im going to go get anothe ecu socketed and swap the chip to a new ecu. it sounds like a governed rev limit like something got changed in my tune or in my ecu settings.

for what i understand about the tune. it runs somewhat rich. but leaner than the origional basemap. the car runs really smooth. it almost never backfires and i never had any problems with it untill now. form what i understand, the tune is the same as on a friends car. he was running 12 psi on the same tune. im running 6.

since i went to put the car back on the road and it had this rev problem, i changed the distributor cap, distributor rotor, starter, battery, sparkplugs, plug wires, and fuel filter to try to get rid of it. i have cleaned all the grounds that i could find including some under the dash. i took the ecu out cleaned it and checked the chip. i cleaned all the electrical plugs with electrical parts cleaner. ive checked all the fuses in the fusebox in the engine bay and inside under the ignition.

i found out that the starter ground conector was fucked up, was kinda corroded and didnt properly clip to the starter.. so it kept popping off... i know thats why it didnt want to start properly. would the starter not being grounded have any affect on the rev problem?
thanks everyone for the help.. sorry if i havent been specific enough.

Burn a new program, if even a basemap, and try it.

Re: help please- turbo crx wont rev past 4000 rpm

well i foudn a boostleak. there is water around the coupler and when it hits 4000 rpm, the water bubbles . it will go past 4000 rpm in if i lightly rev it from idle. if i rev it hard at idle it will pass 4000 but there is a big stinky rich cloud of smoke 4000 rpm +. under load though it wont go past 4000. im pretty sure that this is the problem.
