help please- turbo crx wont rev past 4000 rpm
i drove my crx today... its been sitting for a month in storage. it was a bitch to get started and after changing the starter, battery and dist rotor, it fired up and ran excellent. but when i took it for a rip to get more gas it wouldnt boost over 4000 rpm. it would rev up good and pull hard till 4000 then its like hitting a rev limiter. its does it at exactly 4000 rpm every gear. it boggs out really hard a 4000. i think maybe its a fuel problem since the car has been sitting .it had a little less than a 1/4 tank of gas when i parked it and the driveway is on a slope ( if that helps). it did not do this before and i cant figure out why it would do it now. i think maybe it might need a new fuel filter. could the fuel filter cause this? does anyone know whats possibly happening? what things can i change out to eliminate the problem and hopefully fix it. im soo tired of driving my winter beater.. its nice to feel the boost again.
It's possible that the old *** fuel pump in there was starved of gas since it was on an incline for a month and the already old seals gave way. It's not the fuel filter most likely. Sounds like it's also running out of fuel at that rpm thus bogging and cutting out. Turn the boost down and see if you can get more rpm out of it. If you do then it's a fueling problem since the map will call for less fuel at the lower boost pressure.
thanks for the suggestions.. the setup is an 88 crx si with an sohc zc w. IHI turbo. boost is stock setting for that turbo so like 6 psi or so. its tuned on turbo edit.
i dotn have a boost controller since im pretty early into the project and i just wanted to see if i coudl build the car a couple months ago
the vss, where do i find that?? the wires for the reverse lights are not wired up since they were wired up hack a long time ago. other than that i dunno what could be unplugged.
It coudlnt be the computer coudl it. thats what all my friends are saying but i was the only one of them to ever finish a turbo project car so their in-put doesnt mean much....

thats what i thought.. vss came on auto`s... does anyone think that it could be the CAS in the distributor?
i took it for a rip again... its similar to fuel cut on my friends talon from not having a big enough mass airflow sensor..the car pulls hard till 4000 then wont make power at all and boggs out instantly at 4000 exactly. it does it in every gear. thats the best i can describe what happens.
