HELP! Oil return line!!!!!
ok, heres the deal .. i think im having a bit of a problem .... i think i may have put my oil return fitting a little too high on my oil pan, and for some reason the turbo seems to be hangin a little low .. Not a good combination ....
the fitting coming from my turbo is almost completely perpendicular(sp) to the fitting on the oil pan .... getting the lreturn line on there is gonna be tight without putting a kink in it! ... Im worried that the oil from the tubo (14b) wont derain properly into the pan, and instead back up into my turbo and send my seals on a fast trip to the garbage!!!
well here are some pics .... the angles are a little bad but im telling you they are almost perpendicular.....
do you all think im gonna have a big problem on my hands
also on the fitting on the back of the block the steathmode fittings didnt really screw in well into eachother .. i could get everything about half way in and then no more!!1 i didnt try to force it cause i didint want to ---- ---- up... think it will leak? i Used that blue locktite ---- on the threads.....
thanks guys!

Re: HELP! Oil return line!!!!!
We've had similar drain lines work, but you could get a 45 or a 90 and come off the drain flange that way. You'll need a 3/8npt male thread to a 1/2" barb (in a 45 or 90)
That block fitting isn't going anywhere.
You're using an HF manifold, aren't you? HF manifold + adaptor plate =tricky drain line.

Re: HELP! Oil return line!!!!!
yes, i am using a 14b with an std manifold ... i would like to clock the drain away from the motor a little bit but i seems i cant do that cause the oil feed line hits the adapter plate ...
i hope i can find the right 45 degree fitting and this ---- works right ... i do have other d series oil pns, but at how low the drain fitting comes from the turbo, i dont think going down another 1/2 inch on the pan is going to helop me much ....
are there any other options/tricks that might help me out?
haha ... i should put an inline pump it .. never have drain problems then

Re: HELP! Oil return line!!!!!
You could cut the first two ridges off the barb fitting coming off the turbo, clock the turbo to face a tad backwords, and then do a straight shot to it.
Looking at your pictures, it doesn't seem to be THAT bad. When the turbo barb is lower than the oil pan barb, that's when you're in trouble. lol.
Always always always put your oil pan fitting in after you have EVERYTHING ELSE installed to see where the oil pan fititng will work best.
You'll be ok though.

Re: HELP! Oil return line!!!!!
^^^ ahahahaha ... now you tell me! HAHA Well i will try a few things tomorrow .. im letting the jb weld dry up now ....
what signs should i be looking for that things are not draining properly what are the symptoms?
will there be less of a problem at lower rpm's (less oil pressure) at what rpm does the oil pressure max out at ....
Im going to start up the motor tomorrow with no IC piping just to check things out so i want to know what i should be looking for ... thanks!!!!

Re: HELP! Oil return line!!!!!
Your oil pressure will be highest when the car is cold and you first start it up. Let it warm up and it should go down to about 25psi at warm idle, and probably 75 at WOT.
Just get it the best you can. You know what the function of it and with a little common sense you'll be fine. Start it up, let it idle and just look at everything to check for leaks. Not just the oil kit either, check it all.
