Default Help me decide plzzz..

Ok my setup: log manifold (probably), external tial style wastegate at 8 psi, 3'' exhaust, 2.5 - 3'' downpipe, JRC 8'' intercooler (i think, not sure how fitment is on this one), greddy type S BOV....type R cams...

My question: Which t3/t4 should I go with? I would like crazy top end...however I would also like good spool.....plz don't tell me to go with a ball bearing turbo because I have a budget here. Should I go with a 50 trim or 54 trim?

Any idea how the 54 trim would spool? This is a daily driver.....however my goal is to get 270-280 whp on 8 psi.

How much difference is the spool time on the 2 turbos and how much different will the top end be?

First off, theres no way in hell you will ever hit those numbers with a stock z6 or I am wrong and you have a built motor? Well im running 60/63. trim and its great. I love the topend pull and it has decent spool. I think alot of people run 60/48.

Another factor in spool time would be turbine wheel stage. If you are worried about spool time go with a stage 2 turbine wheel and get the to4e 54 trim compressor. But, I know if it was my decision I wouldn't be able to make the decision. I'd probably think about it for about a month and still not be able to decide. You'd probably be happy with either one. Don't kill yourself thinking about it. Have you looked at compressor maps? You can always call turbonetics and get their opinion.

I was thinking of a .48 a/r turbine housing...

A .63 A/R would be better for spool times? What are the downsides other than the price?

:P

Actually has anyone actually had any experience with the XS racing turbos? They are cheap as hell and have a 1-2 year warrantee. I've seen that one that fell apart but you know if it dies early a brand new one costs like as much as a rebuild.

A turbo with a .48 a/r turbine housing will spool faster than a turbo with a .63 a/r. .63 will flow better and make more top end power. And turbine wheel stages go from 1 for quickest spool to stage 4 for most flow. I'd probably go with the .48 a/r with a stage 2 or 3 wheel. But, thats just my opinion.

if you got a b-series, get the bigger turbo. get a stage 3 t3/t04e, or a 60/63
