Default Help Identify New Turbo

Well, as my turbo kit comes together ive come across a few good deals. I have a set of 450 dsm injectors, a sidemount dsm i/c and a dsm bov valve. I got that all for 20 bucks.

Reciently i bought this turbo for 30 dollars. It needs a rebuild, and I dont know exactly what kind of turbo it is.

The guy i bought it from said its a t25 from a saab 9000t, but i thought those turbos were either t3's or t2's. Anyways heres the pics.

Theres a number plate on the center section, and if those numbers tell me anything ill post them up. If measurements of the inlet/outlet are needed ask and ill post them. The a/r on the exhuast side is .49 and on the compressor is .48. Ive heard that this turbo will be slightly to small for my d16a1. Is there any way to install a larger compresser on these turbos? I know its possible for the t3... hell it might even be a t3. Anyways thanks alot for any help!

I'd sell it just cause I don't like the looks of that flange

So yeah if you could get a refund, I would do it, for less than the money you spent on that and a rebuild you could get a nice condition t3

well rebuild kits are cheap and i can weld so...

i just need to know what kinda turbo it is.

besides if i buy a nice condition t3 for 100 bucks, its not rebuilt. id rather have a rebuilt turbo thatll last forever than a turbo that will only last me 30,000 miles

you seriously think that you'll keep that turbo on your car for more than 30,000 miles. get the ---- out of here. i bet you don't keep that one on there 10,000.

besides, you'll probly blow you engine before you get to 30,000.

chill man, i asked a question and didnt get a responce other than "get a refund" or "sell it"

I didnt even say i was going to keep it for 30,000 miles. I just said that id rather have it rebuilt to last longer that way when i do decide to upgrade ill have a rebuilt turbo with low miles and maybe can get something decient out of it.

Maybe i shouldnt post, because i dont have 1000 + posts so i dont know what im talking about.

no, that's not what you should do. but get a turbo that you'll be satisfied with from the get go. if you rebuild that, no one will pay a good amount of money for it if they know about turbos

bottom line. its too small for any application. maybe a lawnmower can use it

ok, so since its so small can i put a larger compressor houseing on it?

Anyways, I still dont know what kind of turbo it is.

I know its small, but i do have a gsxr-750. So if nothing else itll go on that.

What kind of turbo do you think i should have? I was thinking something more like a 14b, on another forum a fellow has the same motor as me and a t25 from a 2g dsm than he swapped to a 14b and said it lags like hell compared.

How does this turbo compare to the dsm t25?

Thanks for any help

bah use the turbo than. You wanted help, i may not have givin the help you initially wanted, but I thought it would have been in your best interest to actually get a decent turbo. Do what you please, it's your money. Since you throwin' it away you might as well gimme those injectors.

And good job bringing up post count, expecially since no one mentioned anything about it or even called you a n00b

Now I'll call you a n00b, good job for n00bing yourself n00b

Eh, i suppose i got overboard. Sorr im used to honda-tech and getting my *** flamed off.

Anyways yeah, i know its small or whatever. Im not really looking for super high numbers. 150-180 hp for now is ok. I dont want to break things on the first time around, So id rather expirement with a smaller turbo and get a good idea of things than go ***** to the wall and get the biggest baddest setup and blow sshit up.
