well it was bought used from someone, so it had alot of carbon/dirt build up from the exhaust that flows through it. Plus I think it was removed from the car and sat awhile becuase the shaft that runs directly down the middle that controls the valve was slightly rusted, and rust doesnt sliode very good. So a good cleaning and smoothing out on the buffing wheel fixed it up like new.
