help identify my tial spring pls
hey guys, I got a red spring for a tial 35mm wastegate. From searching around I found out it could be 6.53psi if its regular, or 15.95psi if its the "high pressure" version. How can I tell the difference between the two? The car is boosting way past what I'd like, and ive checked just but everything so far and cant figure it out.
thnx for the help

well, it's not very likely that it's a 15.xxx psi spring without you knowing about it
what's the highest boost you've hit? are you using a boost controller also? do you have a dump tube for your wg?

We had an MBC hooked up, thought it was the problem so we eliminated it and hooked up the wastegate to straight vaccume, still way overboosting. The car will keep boosting way past 7psi as much as you give it gas. I havent really gone past 15psi, but im not exactly trying to test past that lol Thats at like 1/2 throttle, maybe a little more. Not WOT.
I wouldnt know if it was high pressure spring or not, first one ive dealt with. But it definatley gets to right around 14-15 and seems like it will keep going.
This sucks i really cant figure it out
thnks again for the help

so you just have the side nipple on the wg hooked up to the vacuum/boost source right? so you say you have hit around 13 psi?? maybe it is the high pressure spring then. who did you buy it from, you can't ask them?
i've seen pictures of them side by side somewhere, but can't remember where
just cut some of the spring off a little at a time (like half a coil) and keep test driving it to see where the boost level is at. if you're sure that you have it hooked up right and it's still not opening, then i would just cut the spring. if you cut it too low, you still have a boost controller so you can always raise the boost to exactly where you want it.

can't you just cut a coil off that spring and stretch it if it needs to be longer? i'd do that the first second i saw the boost go past what i wanted if i could'nt get a store exchange on the spring.
We identified the spring and it is definetly the small spring (1.875"). We completely removed the spring and the car still built boost. Does this mean the wastegate is bad? Is there any way i can check the wastegate?
Any information from anyone would would be appreciated

Took the wastegate apart tonight and saw it was siezed up, couldnt move it whatsoever. So i cleaned it all up real good and put it back togethor and it worked great. Car runs good, hold boost perfect now.
Thanx for anyones help over the past few weeks, so happy the car is working right now.
