Default Help!!! Car sounds like a v8 and runs poorly. 240sx ka-t

I'm trying to get my 240sx ka-t running reliably and it just isn't working....

Fisrt I had the turbo too close to the block and it melted a couple wires (fixed) and was all bad.

I moved the turbo to more towards the front and towards the drivers fender more. It's all piped up and it should be running fine.

The idle is mostly good... occasional stalling..
Part throttle cruising is fine
When i get above like 50% throttle it coughs and sputters like no other... You'd think boost leak but I'm still making 2 lbs part throttle, and it climbs if i get on it a bit.. I haven't tried full throttle because it can't even handle half.
It sounds like you're rolling your tounge and couging at the same time if you can imagine.

I've looked extensively for boost leaks and I'm not seeing any.. any ideas?

ok, now it's basically anything above idle it freaks out... another way of thinking about the sound is it sounds like a v8 with a loping cam.

I'm so confused. Bump it up

What fuel pump do you have? My fuel pump was going out and it did a 50% throttle bog.

Try another MAf sensor and try another coolant temp sensor. 240sx's are gay sometimes.

I'm thinking about trying a different maf...
How do you check to see if your maf is bad?

What would the coolant temp sensor affect? and where is it?

it may be a little off topic but what do you have in your set up?..just out of curiousity?

also what are you tuned with?..that may also be a problem

Make sure the maf sensor is a good distance away from the turbo. At LEAST 6-8 inches, otherwise the maf heats up and doesnt see the air, depending on the type of maf sensor. Also build a pressure tester to test for leaks, looking doesnt do much good.
