well this could just be me being ignorant when it comes to turbo hondas, but why does my car sound like it has a lawn mower blade on it? seriously, it sounds like im ridding around cutting grass.

would it be because i have an external wastegate?

i'm pretty sure there isn't an exhaust leak.

i just wanted to make sure there wasn't something more serious going wrong

 

um more specifics would be great

 

My sound like that sort of, turned out it was a bad gasket that was fluttering a bit!!!!

 

maybe because the motor isn't that much larger than a lawnmower motor?

in low rpms (1-2.5k) it sounds fairly normal. like a n/a car with Apexi N1 exhaust would sound. when i step on the gas, it sounds like it's fluttering quite a bit and its pretty loud.

whitey: that's what i was thinking, but i wasn't sure. i didnt think the wastegate opened up until higher rpms.

 

its your wastegate opening. Pipe the dumptube into the downpipe and your problem is solved. (If its the sound that I think your talking about)

 

hah that would be nice except i dont think i have much room to run another pipe with my a/c being right there. ill try to figure something out

 

put a lawn mower muffler on your dumptube

 

does it sound like that only when you accelerate before boost or after... cause if it makes it before you hit boost you probably have an exhaust leak... and if it makes it after... its probably that your wastegate aint hooke up to nothing to quiet that bitch down...

I had a cracked manifold... and it sounded like a shitty lawnmower for about a week till i fixed it... its really emberassing... just like when your brakes squeel...

check for black soot... and thats most likely where the leak is
