well, its on and making SOME boost. i must have a leak somewhere. but im only getting about 3 psi tops. i bypassed the intercooler for right now because my crappy piping job was leaking like crazy. there are only two places where the boost can be leaking from, so ill figure it out tomorrow at work. i know the turbo is spooling...damn is that thing loud.

well i figured out why i got no boost. apperently the saabs use a wastegate actuator set at 2-3 psi and then basically use an electronic boost controller. well i disconnected the wastegate actuator and i get 4 psi before i blew a hose yay! stupid saabs

I love Escorts.

My first car was a 88 GT. It is still in my garage 11 years later. I always wanted to do the turbo setup with the Euro manfold. Is the Merkur ecu plug and play? Are you going to use Merkur injectors?

yea the merkur ecu is plug and play, as is the merkur injectors and merkur vam. i am using all of the above, along with the RS manifold, and a saab turbo. i still need to get some ripper vids. its not incredibly fast, but im only running about 8 psi right now, until i get the intercooler hooked up. if you ever need any help with that GT lemme know, i can probably help, as i have had 7 1g escorts, two of which were parts cars, so i guess they dont really count. either way, ive been around them for a long time.

EDIT: btw that on one damn good looking car. tough to find in that good of condition these days

First car I bought new was 86.5 EXP Sport Coupe, I had the first on in the city, red also.

10,995 was the sticker price.

I thought all the EXP's had rusted away by now!

most of them have...but i am pleased to say that this one has not a speck of rust on it in any place. so the latest deal on the car, i tried 11 psi today and decided that i need the intercooler hooked up in a bad bad way. i didnt notice any extra power from 9 psi to 11.

well i got off work tonight and start the 40 mile trek home. i make it about 4 miles and see 6 muscle cars drive by me in a line. im like ooo0000OOO. so i turn around in the middle of the highway and go chase them down to see where the car show was at. ended up finding it. stood around there for 3 hours until the cruise. went up and watched all of them cruise for a while, then got ancy. i hopped in my car and went up and joined the cruise for a little while, as my coolant would permit. well the car is getting a little warm, so i decide it would be a good idea to take it down the road a little bit and get some air flow over that radiator. apperently so does a honda prelude and a honda accord. im cruising along behind these two hondas and end up catching up to them at a street light Twisted Evil i proceded to stomp the living ---- out of the prelude and the accord at the same time. next stop light the dude in the prelude is like...."damn, i tried telling this guy(pointing at passenger) that your car was fast, that thing is pretty bad ass man" i say thanks and start heading on my way. apperently dude wanted to get smoked again, so i smoked him again...just for fun. cruise back up to the drag and make a lap and start to head home. along the way i found a subaru wrx with a fart cannon 3" manderel bent exhaust(at least the portion i could see) , and a bad ass sounding BOVand god only knows what else. i run the dude and get my ass handed to me because my turbo doesnt spool nearly as fast as his. well we cruise towards the highway racing off and on the whole way. as we go along, im starting to notice that when my turbo finally does spool up, im keeping up with the bastard....im like HELL YEA! well we finally make it to the highway and start going balls to the walls. im focusing on my shift points, making sure i get in gear before letting out on the clutch and where in the ---- my car is pointing. i race him on the highway a couple of times and when i start spooling up i can gain on him a little bit Exclamation well we finish up our last race(i think he was quite surprised) i notice my car is running like ----.....oh ----! what the hell just happened? so i goose it a little bit and some boost starts building and it starts running better. i look at my boost gauge and notice that the sombitch is at 16-non-intercooled-PSI....dammit, i blew off my boost controller hose again. so i drive the rest of the 35 miles home sounding like a harley. i think i blew my head gasket....i hope i blew my head gasket. or maybe just fouled a plug. or broke a piston. ----...---- ---- ----. ill find out tomorrow what the deal is. and just one last final...----

well fortunately i just blew the head gasket a little bit....see
