just wondering if any one has used an adapter plate to put a different mani on their car. (i'm sure some one has)
i have a 1.8T stock exhaust mani and want to out it to use.
the ports on teh head line up with the mani(well, close enough that i can port the mani) just the holes for the studs are different, should i use an adapter?

an adapter will surely be cheaper than a diff mani

 

jus drill new holes, ive seen people use sohc mani's on dohc's. its possible, jus get creative. adapter plate mite be a pain in this situation.

 

the bottom holes i could, but the top ones are a no go

 

weld something to it or add material to it.then drill. pic would be nice

 

hmm id just get a plasma cutter, cut the flange off the 1.8t mani and tig a d series flange to it..

or cut it with a band saw.

just tig it and heat the ---- outta it, it should hold.
