i thought you had to sleeve h22s if you were gonna biuld them...but im usually wrong

You are right...You need to put new sleeves in.
H-series engine use FRM sleeves.(hope I got it right)
It's properties are not suited for forged pistons.

H22's are once and done detonation motors. It takes very little to snap ringlands. But good fuel management will help you to avoid this problem.


My advise, have some stock pistons laying around and just put a new one in when one goes.

They are just as sensitive as any other honda engine. Cast pistons make them weak. The FRM (fiber re-inforced metal) sleeves are homo and wont work correctly if you put a aftermarket piston in. I say boost the h22 around 10psi perfectly tuned, and have some money in the bank for sleeves/rods/pistons =)

or just throw in a F22 or F22+H22 head.
