going for 10psi!!!
my question is... if i have an internal wastgate (8psi) can i use a boost controler and push 10psi with out having to chane my wastegate? we put a controler on my buddys civic and insted of pushing 10psi it just hold a steady 8psi..... is that because of the wastegate or?

Re:going for 10psi!!!
Also if you are looking for a little more boost, you can run the vac line to the wastegate from the IM. You may have already done that, don't know if you are hitting a full 8psi.
You can pick up inexpensive MBC's online everywhere, or make your own.

Re:going for 10psi!!!
My MBC holds steady with no spikes. It has a allen set screw to keep the adjustment **** from moving. Sure I could have built it for less than 10 bucks at home depot but I'm a lazy bastard and bought it off ebay for 43 bucks shipped lol. Works damn good though. Stock spring is 8psi, I raised it to 9.5psi and have set it to as high as 12 with ZERO spikes or fade. I wouldnt say I got ripped off I knew what I was in for. A cheap *** home-made mbc. http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQg...sortpropertyZ1

Re:going for 10psi!!!
Dont want to hijack but its better than me making a thread lol
Im new to controlling your boost so bear with me
Say I have a turbo that is internally gated stock, but I want to convert to external wastegate. I block off the wastegate hole and run a 35/38mm tial with say a 12psi spring. Now that means I cant go below 12 psi right?
And all I would have to do is raise the boost on my electronic boost controller (im getting elec) to say 16psi and it wont matter than I only have a 12 psi spring? No adjustment have to be made on the wastegate to the spring?
Thanks

Re:going for 10psi!!!
yes, you take the interal wastgate off, the o2 housing if there is one, by a block off flange and weld a flange on your mani for a external. you wont be able to go below whatever your spring is rated at and the EBC will raise to whatever you want it to be
