Got a GM8 IHI turbo for my project, does anyone have pics of their external gate setup? Im sure your all familiar with the jacked up location of the flange and discharge pipe.

 

I just bought a gm-1. I believe your flapper is in the exhaust elbow where as mines in the housing. Block off the hole in your housing and run an external off the mani. Thats atleast what I plan on doing. Also anyone have anymore info on these (spool, a/r?) other than the mx6 website info. This will be going on a vitara/fjt y8, z6 head. kms valvetrain and 59300 cam.

 

well you go two options, machine the exhast housing and just get a flat flange with a external on your down pipe, or i remeber bmcrace had a nice flange that had a copper o ring all you had to do is drill out the hole and weld on a pipe.

on mine im maching the housing and using a blockoff plate and running a wastegate from the manifold.

Maybe Blaast can chime in on this one. The RHC6 dp flange says gm 5-8. Will this still work on a gm-1?
