ok i finally got my oil leak fixed and drove my car to work today. all was going well intil about 5 min into my drive. my car just started to stall everytime i came to a stop if i didnt keep gas on it not really sure what is causing this but im sure it has to do with the huge pile of ---- SMC that i am using. i would really like to fix this hopefully someone has some advice.


anyway i was able to drive it without to much trouble but as soon as i got on the highway and hit about 7-8PSI my CEL came on. i drove the rest of the way to work, car running fine.

when i got to work i pulled the codes. and i got the following.

code 3 - map sensor - I think this is becuase that POS SMC just cant scale far enough for 8psi, im not to worried about this one.

code 12 - EGR valve - I have no clue why it would throw this one. this one im worried about..because i have no idea what could possible throw that CEL

and code 41 - oxygen sensor heater - I could understand if the "rich/lean" code came on, but the heater?? what could be causing this?


hopefully someone will be able to help me out. if not ill just have to wait until i get my ECU chipped and can use uberdata.

 

map sensor= to me the damn SMC

i believe u had to wire into that didnt you

the EGR.. it may just be clogged.. it happens on our cars..

the oxygen sensor heater.. bleh.. im at a loss on that one... im having issues with my o2 sensor as well after the header install on my sisters cb7

 

i am positive the map sensor code is because the SMC just cant scale far enough. i cant wait to get rid of this peice of ---- and get uberdata. uhgg!

probably something non related to the CELs is to why it's stalling. how do the plugs look?

do you think you are starving it on fuel when at a stop sign or something?

 

i just dont know. its really bothering me though. its making it much less pleasurable to drive a turbo car when everytime i have to stop the car dies.

im thinking about putting my stock injectors in until i get those chips. Is it possible to squeeze a little more fuel out of the stock injectors with an SMC/AFC ??
