Default Just got a supercharger(jrsc) can I run some checkvalves to clear cels?

Ok, so I just got myself a used jrsc,
i'm running a jdm d15b vtec in my 92 cx hatch.

the supercharger has just an fmu for fuel management,
which is fine for now, as it comes with a 6psi pulley.

but it is PSI still, so I'm going to see some CEL right?

Well my question is, can I just run some checkvalve setup like people used to do on their custom turbokits to clear the CEL's?
or do I have to buy jacksonracings map controller..

and if I dont do anything right away, will it work ok even with the CEL's? I believe the kit comes expecting CELs..

but anyhoo, I just wanna hear what you guys think.

I'm not sure how they run check valves on OBD1 with the MAP on the throttle body, but you can just buy a missing link for around $40. I know it's alot more money than the check valves would be, but......

You don't want to be boosting with the cel on. The car is going to run like *** and it's not going to be worth it. You can baby it until you get it figured out though.

BTW, turbo ownz your supercharger. :P

ok thanks,
any other benifits to missing link than clearing CEL's?

P.S. i'm not into ALL OUT SPEED or whatever,
i know a turbo setup would be cheaper & faster,
I have pieced together my own hmt kit before.
I like the sc for its simplicity, light weight, and smooth power curve.
150whp is my goal with this.

That's all the lissing link does. No MAP cels.

What is so light weight about the JRSC?

Did you get the aftercooler setup?

well the jrsc kit weighs alil over 30lbs

my 14b/hf mani(no downpipe or even exhaust flange)
and a tiny half plastic 3rd gen rx7 ic, weighed over 40lbs
add in a downpipe setup, all the charge piping, front mount ic.. its alot.. and its all at the front of your car.

the jrsc kit replaces your intake mani(havent weighed the intake mani, but I have a feelign the jrsc doesnt weigh much more) and its at the back of the engine bay.

when I first got the kit, I picked the thing up and was really suprized at how light it was, i think the 14b turbo alone weighs more than the entire jr kit.

Stock intake manifolds don't weigh ----. I'd be REALLY impressed if your Uber racing charger weighs the same as a stock intake manifold. :P Plus, you can't really bitch about how much the intercooler weighs because it serves a good purpose......but you wouldn't know anything about that with your non-intercooled UberCharger. :P

I'm just picking on you anyways.

I never experienced any cel's with my jrsc setup. I don't think you will have a problem. Now, if you decide to go with say Uberdata to tune rather than an FMU you WILL have to relocate your map sensor to see boost. The Map sensor in the stock location on the throttle body will not see any boost as it is BEFORE the supercharger

Hmmmmm........I guess that makes sense. The TB wouldn't see boost with the JRSC, would it? God damn UberChargers and their funky *** designs. :P I'll stick to my precious turbos with charge pipes and intercoolers..
