Default Gasket material

Hey everybody, just need a little advice. I'm doing a custom turbo project and I was wondering what would be something good to use for gasket material between turbo-downpipe and turbo-exhaust manifold. I've been looking for like copper sheet metal but haven't had any luck. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

You dont need a gasket, just run metal to metal, downpipe flange to turbo. I dont know of any thing that will hold up to the heat.

Just go to a scrap metal yard. The one near me has rolls of copper and stainless for like $8 a foot. Just cut it to the size you need.

Thanks guys. I'll probably get the flanges milled then, one is a little wavy from the grinder. My turbo is a IHI RHB5, its going in a 95 neon dohc. I've heard they're fast spooling turbos so it should work good for what I want it for (street). I had to relocate the battery to the trunk, if any of you own a neon you know that its tighter than a gnat's under the hood stock. I should hopefully be done with installing it this weekend. thanks again for the help.

i used this felpro exhaust gasket material on mine. it was like $15 for like this huge 2 square foot piece @ autozone. i just made my own gasket out of it.. was a bitch to cut b/c its metal. i used a dremel to cut it.

use a gasket.

you can go to any engine rebuilding shop and ask for high temp gasket material, they will cut you a big square of metal gasket material with holes. cut this out however you want, even a nice shap pair of sissors will do the trick, and use that as your gasket.
it holds an excellent seal, and it will never burn off.
