Forged rods and pistons
I read in the Hybrid/Tech section that the engine block will have to be notched in order to install forged rods and pistons. There was no mention of the type of engine.
I have a few questions for any D16Z6 owners with forged rods and pistons: 1. Will I have to notch the block? If yes, how is it done and about how much is the cost to get it done? 2. Is there a particular set of forged rods and pistons that can be installed without any modification to the engine block? I need this information ASAP for installation next week. Thanks in advance for all your help. |
Re:Forged rods and pistons
I'm wondering the same thing since I'll be building up an engine soon. D16Z6 Eagle Rods

Re:Forged rods and pistons
You need to notch with a D-series if you're using H-beam Rod's. With Crower I beams you don't need to.
