lets get to the pics, cuz i know thats why your here ::)

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/civic1.JPG
the beast

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/d15_bird.JPG
me right after i dropped the bitch on the ground, wtf you need a hoist for? i call it "pull a part style" cuz they dont have hoist there either. just undid the front and rear mounts, along with shift linkage, wires, etc, the removed the bottom bolts on driver and passenger side mounts... then lowered the car as far as the jack would go (so sitting on the jack) then grabbed the air gun (barrowed) and undid the last bolt on the drivers side, engine fell and hit radius arm :-\ then did the tranny side and it fell to the ground completely ;D

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/D15_ground.JPG
then jack it up as high as you can

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/damnclose.JPG
then side her out

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/forsale.JPG
FOR SALE ;) '88 D15B2 ~170K miles, good compression, good tranny, etc

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/Z6_0.JPG
now aint that so much sexier? '94 D16Z6, '91 DX tranny & flywheel, ACT XTSS clutch, HMT.com enigne mounts, B18A throttle body...

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/axles.JPG
k, this was gay... the bottom axle came out off the drivers side of the car. anything look wrong to you? well looked even worse in the car, was too small for the hub!!! :o and aboue half an inch too short. im pretty sure its for a late 80's Accord... luckly i still have my CRX axles around from when i did the B18 swap...

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/Z6_6.JPG
back to the swap. how did i get the motor in the air without a hoist? and without any help? long story... basicly you need a couple jacks and some wood handy, and its pretty much revese of taking it out...

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/oilpan.JPG
check that ---- out :-*

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/o2bung.JPG
O2 bung for my PLX Wideband controler, i will use the stock one on top of the manifold for the ECU and this one when tuning...and of course use the old broken ass O2 as a plug...

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/Z6_4.JPG
some charge pipe action

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/Z6_3.JPG
all finished, yeah...got to love Seattle! started to ------ rain about the time i finished up...

btw 99% of this was competed by me ;D motor swap, turbo kit, welding, wiring (MPFI swap), etc

so how does it run? how fast is it? etc? well i dont know :-X car was sitting for like 2weeks plus before the swap, so the ------ battery went dead! jumped it off with the Optima from the CRX and it was loud as ---- (its past 10pm) and ------ rich as hell cuz im running whatever was in the ECU that was in my garage ::) so it should be a turbo B18 tune. tomarrow morning i will go do some tuning hopefully before work...

fell free to ask whatever question you have...and if you are running a Z6 on TE PLEASE email me the tune so i have something to start with :-*

Lookin good man. Is it just me, or is doing junkyard setups on a regular ongoing basis (in an apartment parking lot no less) the true sign of an HMT junky ;)

Ill send you Jays ZC tune minus an appropriate amount of fuel. You using a small turbo or your spare 60/63?

also before its asked, running non-intercooled for the time being, supercoupe intercooler is on its way though...

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

---- that ----.. with the 60/63 you dont need an intercooler (lol.. ok so you do!)

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

took it out for a drive this morning (no exhaust, no front bumper :P ) after figuring out the timing (with the A6 dizzy it was like 15deg retarded! good thing i have a chipped ECU, just added 15deg). seems to pull ok. how much boost? dont know, i dont have a boost gauge...but im guessing 5psi...

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

1WVtec has been in the PM6 code for a long time. We never released our dual map vtec code to the PGMFI group but we did release the boost cut code so you may want to see if you can dig up a map with that feature in it.

Dustin, did you try out that map I sent you? How did it run?

turbohf 04-18-2004 01:04 AM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

like ass....i will try it again later though, maybe i didnt have the timing figured out yet.

but i dont like the ignition maps that are on that bin...or any of the PGMFI bins. the 4dr is running off a bin i created for my buddies SOHC ZC, just with 15deg more timing and some more fuel above 4400rpms...

Semnos 04-18-2004 03:30 AM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

I likd it ghetto like that ;D

turbohf 04-20-2004 01:46 AM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

------ oil leakin everywhere, loud as ----, and no front bumper....

think i fixed all three though ;) i put RTV all over...everything :-X bought a 'cherry bomb' and tacked it into place for now, and put the bumper back on (fucker weighs like 40lbs!). gonna make a couple more adjustments to the CRX fuel maps and take the PLX out and put it in the 4dr for some tuning :) hopefully bring it to the track in a couple weeks...

88crxSi 04-20-2004 09:27 AM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

im glad i dont have 56k, those red X's would have taken FOREVER to d/l. :-X

turbohf 04-20-2004 01:24 PM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

there on newbieforces....and we all know its down ::)

turbohf 04-27-2004 05:11 PM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

well after swapping the dizzy out with a good one ::) the car seemed to be running ok other than a slight oil leak (pretty sure its from the pan).

so i pull out onto the street hits 4psi in first :-\ grab second...no boost :-X oops haha forgot to put the C clip back on the WG arm and the arm fell off ::) so we are hitting 4psi now...

oh yeah how am i reading boost? i bought another gauge...---- no! stole it from the CRX (and the dizzy) cuz its hibernating...

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/tuning2.JPG
wait a second how is that being held there?...

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/tuning3.JPG
:-*

while i was stealing ---- from the CRX i might need the PLX to do some tuning...
http://www.newbieforces.com/files/tuning1.JPG
velcoed it to the dash and carefully hid the wires out of view :P also note the placement of the ECU, makes it a little easier to see when pulling chips (like when its dark out)... no comments on the radio, just send donations :-*

turbohf 04-27-2004 05:21 PM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

forgot a couple other things...

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/turboxsmbc.JPG
my TurboXS MBC...think i have it around 7psi now...

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/cherrybomb.JPG
haha and my "exhaust"...its just a Cherry Bomb resinator that i stuck in the end of my DP and tacked it in there for the time being...i will get a flex peice and some more material later and do a full exhaust...maybe...

Spenser 04-27-2004 07:25 PM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

how loud is it with the cherry bomb? thats cool, how much PSI now, is it fast, hehe.

Semnos 04-28-2004 09:02 AM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

Looks Ghetto fab....just how I like it ;D
More info...is it fast?? How's the noize??

turbohf 04-28-2004 12:59 PM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

noise isnt too bad, not too loud anyway...im hearing a whistling from the exhaust, i assume its my awsome welding job (all the little hairpin holes)...but i upgraded my radio, its another shaft radio like the one pictured :-\ it was $16.28 new and has RCA outs (yes i hooked a sub to it :P)....hey if im gonna be ghetto i cant half ass it... ::)

Semnos 04-28-2004 05:05 PM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

Nice nice...I need a radio too :'(

Spenser 04-28-2004 08:56 PM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

that setup is so not ghetto, you got a wideband on it, chipped Ecu, XS boost controller, autometer guage, even tho that ---- is just thrown in there, I still wish that car was mine, take it to the track, i wana see what that thing will run, it's so cool.

turbohf 04-29-2004 02:09 AM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(56K......HAHAHA)

that ---- was all stolen from the CRX...and well a 'chipped ecu' is ghetto, but a turboedit modified ecu is cool ;)

anyway it got me to work today...and that is its purpose...

turbohf 05-13-2004 12:16 PM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(***track update***)

***UPDATE*** went to the track yesterday with the beater...
first and best run:
60' 2.455
1/8 9.694
mph 76.43
1/4 14.794 :)
mph 95.27

looked like i was hitting 8-9psi at the top of 3rd, runs were made with no exhaust...kinda fell off as i pulled into the tracks parking lot :-X so i have been running open DP. AF's where like 11's so i could have done better....

BoosTedZSix 05-13-2004 12:53 PM

Re:finished the turbo beater! Z6 engine swap and turboed!!(***track update***)

thats not bad. haha for something just thrown together. good ----. congrats on the times.
