Re: finally started my turbo ----..
thanks. im going to be running open downpipe. i dont care. its not my daily driver. i still have to figure out how to fit the injecters in. than just relocate my battery, get my new dizzy, and get a tune. oh yea, install my oil lines to. im hoping for 200 whp on 8 lbs. the motor is stock except arp headstuds and new hg, water pump, and timing belt. you think its a reasonable number?

Re: finally started my turbo ----..
i know its way too late for this, but, you can weld panel steel with stick IF you use the smallest stick you can find, and IF you get the settings right, and IF you get the proper penetration without blowing holes. its not easy. far from it. but it can be done.
how did you get on with those pipes? any leaks, or did you reweld, or just let it leak? a few pinholes dont realllllly matter at the end of the day. the volume of air lost compared to what is flowing through there is so insignificant. people have airflowmeter stigma with regards leaks. on an afm car, it is a real issue.

Re: finally started my turbo ----..
i ended up ditching the welded pipes and used couplers. i just had my uncle weld the bov flange on. He is a better welder. the ching chong meow turbo is comparable to a t3 .42/.48. so far i have had no problems with it. i will be adding a mbc soon to get the whp numbers a little higher. i want to see how much this bitch can take.
