Re: few pics of my buddies spirit r/t
There were a few verisons, turbo I, turbo II, the one with the VNT turbo (750 made). They used a few blocks, very few differences though, eventually saving costs with a 'common block'. If you had a rebuilt motor, low milage block, or had incredibly good luck, it was a great car. Otherwise...
The only good 'sleeper' of this type is the one that got me laughing as it smoked my stock d16. Late 80's rusty dodge minivan running something like 20psi. The faux wood on the side was the clincher.
On a lighter note, my dad bought a turbo Shadow new. I remember he got some wide-*** 16" rims with water-unfriendly goodyear rubber on them. I remember him roaching the tires and brake-checking us kids when we didn't have our seatbelts on. He even has a Road & track mag introducing them along with other turbo compacts. Whats sad is they aren't any faster in that mag as most NA compacts of the late 90's.

The first car I financed was a `89 Daytona Shelby. I'm pretty sure it was faster than my CRX is stock, but not by much. But the potential of the turbo II is incredible, I'd love to get another one, but not right now.

I know what mopar is dude, you consider a plymouth neon mopar? Cause thats just like considering this car mopar. The literal definition is Motor Parts company by chrysler products but anything after late 1970's really isn't true mopar. My dad's 1972 dodge challenger is Mopar, but not this thing.

That's wierd, when I had my Daytona and bought parts at the dealer up the road everything said Mopar on it and I could buy parts from the Mopar Performance Parts catalog for it, but I must have been mistaken to think if was a Mopar just because it was built in 1989. Somone should let DCX and all there dealerships know that they haven't sold anything Mopar in the last 35 years.

There's a difference to me and alot of older people between mopar in the 80's and mopar in the 60's and 70's. It might technically be mopar, but if you were to call a spirit a mopar, I know my dad would probably laugh in your face lol. I can't see a spirit being considered true mopar.
