f22 with forge pistons = good or bad?

sup guys, i heard that f22 have cas iron sleeve, which make them very good to boost. well, i'm in the process of building up a f22 right now. i want to be able to boost like 15 psi at the track and 10 daily. what do u guys recomend for me to do with the internal? for sure i will get new head gasket set with new timing belt and water pump from honda. pistons, rods, sleeve? thanx. i'm currently boosting a stock f22 with 9 psi.

Yeah we talked about this. Anyone have any input? Should the crank be replaced?

IMO no.. the crank doesnt need to be replaced.. but it could be knife edged. and cryo-treated.. but thats just un-necc :P

as for 15 psi at the track

forged piston/rod combo
turbo cam
EMS/Dyno Tune
better cooling system i.e higher capacity radiator/higher rpm fans
that alone can make it hold 15psi at the track

theres a member on here.. that ran 20+psi on his F for a few days before blowing the stock ringlands out of 2 pistons i believe he was on afc hack

was it josh??
the accord was 90-93.. yellow spark plug wires.. white in color..it was an engine bay shot.. bleh.. if you know who this is tell them to come outta the woods! ;)

you think my stock sleeve can take 15 psi? i heard that is not good to use forge pistons on stock sleeve? is that true?i have like 3 f22b1 engines. 2 is just setting around. i also got a h22a1.i was about to build up the H22a1, but i decided to boost the f22 instead, cuz i heard that f22 can take much more boost then the h22.

that was me, but i didin't have yellow spark plug wires, i had yellow optima battery!!

it was ruffly 25 psi on pump gas (witch is what killed it) on an afc hack at 65 psi of fuel pressure.

I ran it like that for 2 weeks, and then blew it up (ring lands)

both you guys are using the afc hack if i remember correctly right?

i think 15psi would be pushing it on stock cast iron sleeves...dont get me wrong they can handle alot...but i dont think that much...maybe it could hold it for a while, but not long...

Re:f22 with forge pistons = good or bad?

hahaha i knew it was joo josh! see man.. 25------- psi for 2 weeks.. f22a's go for 100-300? lol.. that must be some money well spent ey josh??? :P

and adam.. wrong buddy.. 15psi isnt too much for the stock sleeves..thats what makes this motor so nice.

remember thats not gonna be daily psi.. either.. then again.. i bet it could take that too

in stock form.. f22a>h22a when boost is in question..

and yes the cast iron block accepts forged pistons.. like stock replacements.. unlike.. the shitty FRM compound thats found in the h22a.. which means u have to de-sleeve and re-sleeve the slut..

so again.. as long as your fuel management is up to par.. and your not raping the motor in the sky high rpms.. then it will be fine.. i say this because.. there are some.. cough cough.. adam.. cough cough.. who arnt gonna touch the intenrals of the motor.. but then again hes not gonna run 15psi.. only 8.. teheheh :P... i was saying this because the rods are the weak link in the Fs stock form..they can take abuse but to a certain extent..

anyway.. be boost happy and let us know how things go..

i was hoping that i don't have to sleeve my f22. i'm gonna order my pistons and rods next week. as far as all the information i been getting. this are the things i'm gonna do to my f22 block
-cp pistons/and eagle rods
-balance engine
-honda head gasket, timing belt, water pump, and all new sels
-ACL main and rod bearings. anybody heard of ACL bearing?
-port and polish head
-turbo cam

Re:f22 with forge pistons = good or bad?

i'm running afc hack as in this point. damn i just did some readjustment on my clutch (it was sleeping) and change my vafc setting and turn my vtec back on. now the car is pulling so hard. never felt my car running this fast ever.
i will get stanealone when i get my other f22 done. i'm not in a rush with getting it done, i'm happy with the engine in it right now.
