what do the 2 hoses hook up to?

bottom to vac source and leave the top unless you're upgrading to an ebc

so the top one is basically just a kind of "resistance" that makes it harder for the diaphragm to open?

Top one is for your ebc to go into. Thats about it.

Yes if you got EBC. Just leave it open for MBC

so if i use an mbc i use it inline with the lower hose inlet?
