air fuel.

you already have a temperature guage..
and considering running lean is one of the major causes
of engine death.. dont you think common sense would
tell you to get a guage to monitor that?

WELL DONT YOU!!??

Both gauges basically do the same thing and let you know if your running lean. I have did a little research on this and some people say air/fuel is better and some people say EGT is better. The air/fuel gauge shows you the instantaneous mixture and the EGT gauge tells you exactly whats going on inside the engine. Just from what I found on the internet they both seem to give you similar information and I think either would work fine. If I had to choose I would proly just get the air/fuel because I think it looks cooler.

Unless you are talking about getting a wideband O2 sensor and A/F gauge then get the EGT. The typical A/F gauge from Autometer/Greddy etc are basically useless in terms of tuning. They are OK to get an idea, but should not be you sole indicator of how the engine is running. Stick with the EGT gauge, a much more reliable/precise/accurate way of telling how the car is running.

i would go with the egt, as its quite a bit more accurate.

Go for the EGT.

An A/F gauge is only like $40

yeah but the cheap a/f gauges are good enough to know if you're going to run really lean and detonate

What are the temperature ranges or lean and for rich??
Also, what brand and series do you guys recommend? and also, how much more accurate is a two channel one compared to a singe channel one? thanx

Get an EGT , you can ask any tuner they will tell u the same thing (EGT) . If i'm not mistaken on a honda engin anything over 11 is too lean richness depends on ur setup. The richer the mixture the cooler the engin runs but if too rich the car drives like ----.
