exhaust piping

i have 2.5 downpipe and 3inch exhaust but the inlet of my muffler is 2.5 do i need a muffer that has a 3inch inlet. if i put my muffler 2.5 inlet on does this beat the purpose of my 3inch exhaust.

why not have a 3"dp to 2.5 exhaust or 2.5 all the way back?

well i thought the biger exhaust the better. 2.5 down pipe clears my ac

just go 2.5 all the way back, or 2.5 open.

ok, i am trying to decide what i should do for my exhaust as well. thats where i am at right now, and i am going to get the piping asap. i am torn between 2.5 and 3. i have a 2.5 dp, so should i just go ahead and get 2.5 all the way back?
