Dyno'ed the Miata
96 miata
stock internals 14b, homemade piping and manifold and 2.5" exhaust 460cc's AEM F/IC 12-13ish PSI Dynomite dyno. With 15% correction to make it read like a dynojet would have which seems to be the net standard so... http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/7...o2largeas8.jpg datalog http://img372.imageshack.us/img372/3157/dynologxk8.gif |
Re: Dyno'ed the Miata
The real question is:
Can you drift it? |
Re: Dyno'ed the Miata
That's awesome, I'll bet it's a blast to drive. What's the stock HP?
|
Re: Dyno'ed the Miata
I aint tried drifting it much but from what I've been able to come up with is it's no-where near as easy to drift as an S-chassis. It does have an LSD though which is nice :)
It's pretty damn fun. 14b spools up like a mofo. Stock 1.8's dyno at about 105whp. |
Re: Dyno'ed the Miata
Did you tune the AEM F/ic? Was it difficult? Great results btw. Got any pics of the finished setup?

Here's the best recent pic I got. Took it last week when I upgraded to COP. http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/5...57largerk9.jpg |
Re: Dyno'ed the Miata
what kind of ignition was it stock? Did it have a big coil pack like the newer Fords, or a distributor?
|
Re: Dyno'ed the Miata
looks like a coil on wire set up to me. you can tell from the wires going to each individule coil

Re: Dyno'ed the Miata
Are these new coils the little Denso ones that you can find on most Jap bikes? I always thought that would be cool to do. Cheap, easy, cheap, and compact. Good call. Turbo Miata is baller as hell, by the way.
