dsm bov length from charge pipe?
Hey guys, i'm boosted again, finally!! Tonight I heard my dsm bov for the first time at 4psi (wasn't pushing the car hard because i still have the 240's in it. Anyways, I have my dsm bov on a pipe about 3" off the charge pipe and it doesn't sound very loud... Does the length of the pipe that the bov is sitting on have an effect on sound?

Re:dsm bov length from charge pipe?
yeah, if it's closer it's gonna receive openning presure faster which will give it more time to release pressure before you hit the gas again. also if it's closer, there's less space to use up pressure before the BOV opens. T it off the PCV valve with a 5/15" platic T. istead of the smaller Ts' when I did this to mine it was way loud. i got a RFL.

So you are saying that your BOV flange is raised off of the pipe??
I don't think that you could possibly make the flange/pipe long enough to affect the way the air leaves through it. The DSM BOV's just don't have the same sound that others do. If it isn't failing to work mechanically, then forget about it. If you can't forget about it, then you are a sound -----, might be time for a louder BOV.
