Downpipe clearence need help

Default Downpipe clearence need help

This is a 2002 Hyundai accent 1.5 sohc, I dont have enough space for the downpipe, anyone kno how or what i can do to make space between the alternator and dp? need help asap

any clue on using a mini alternator like so

its pretty simple. jus dont use a huge *** looping u-bend kinda downpipe, jus make a dp that faces straight down kinda like

brought it to menieke and the guy tried but the pipe was touching the alternator a bit

jus wrap it with heat wrap... or try to bend it a bit or smash it in a lil bit. wont hurt the flow that much. jus find exactly where its touching n smash it in a bit with a hammer... then wrap it with heat wrap a bit where it might touch.

i had a similar problem with my downpipe
my slave cylinder was in the way so u used a hammer and beat the living ---- out of it OCC style

alright that sounds good ill do a 1.5 straight down, smash it in, heat wrap it, then have the 1.5 welded into a 2.5, so it does look possible to put a dp without damaging the alternator

What about turning the turbo around? It looks like there might be plenty of clearance on the other side.

nah theres not enough space the clutch push rod is in the way

Sounds like your best bet right there. I'd stay away at all possible from "smashing it in" just use smaller piping so it's still smooth flowing. If you need heat wrap my Dad got me some from work. Fire blanket is what it is really. Alot of it. I can probably send you some if you pay shipping.
