does it matter where you put your bov?

So wouldn't you think if you stopped the first domino from falling it wouldn't cause any harm to the other dominos?
Translation:
So wouldn't you think if you purged the air at the beginning of the closure it wouldn't allow pressure to reach the turbo?

bov placed near throttle = better throttle response
bov placed near compressor = better pressure release/less backspool
so with the bov next to the throttle, you are SOFTNING the dominos at the expense of slight backspool... with the bov close to compressor you are STOPPING the dominos at the expense of throttle response... that's why mitsus (at least older ones) have the bov closer to the compressor than the throttle.

Honestly, I don't think you would ever have a problem with the BOV mounted near the throttle body. Most factory turbo cars don't even use BOV's so having one mounted close to the throttle body that might not stop 100% of the charge from backfiring to the turbo is good enough IMO. If you were running 20+ psi it would be more crucial, but not at anything less.

yea... but most of those cars have devices similar to dashpots on older civics that don't let the throttle slam shut at once... it eases closed, so that the turbo has a chance to spool down. I personally could care less... I don't own most of my cars for more than a year anyway
