does a boosted engine or the turbo itself burn oil?
Well let's take a factory turbocharged motor, brand new, off the showroom floor. No, they don't go thru any oil when they are brand new.
Now let's take a kit that was pieced together by someone who is not an automotive engineer (all of us). Placed on a higher milage car not designed for boost.
Expect little leaks here and there man, gasket leaks, fitting leaks. If you didn't use a new turbo, possible for small seal leaks. Too much boost could also complicate problems. Is your PCV system in check?
