How do you think non-water cooled turbos work? :-\ No problems there......

The turbo won't affect the intercooler because the air would be moving the opposite direction.

I have a ZC in an EF. I hardly have room for any radiator, let alone a dual core beast(without modifications).

Let's look at this:

Your cooling system was designed to cool your motor and it does a pretty good job of this. Now, you add an extra item in the system that produces extreme amounts of heat and your cooling system that was only designed to cool down your motor is trying to cool all this extra heat down. Ok, now that you have added this extra heat you are also adding extra compression in the cylinders and making extra power whcih also produces more heat. Now, you also have an intercooler blocking airflow to the entire engine bay, including the radiator. Your cooling system wasn't designed for any of this extra obstruction. Your cooling system is getting it's ass kicked by all this extra heat and no matter how big of a fan you put on it, it's still going to be running alot hotter than it should be.

Just my $0.02 :-\

non water turbos don't have the jacket there, by leaving the jacked unfilled and just air, it will probably <--not sure, im just making this up here type thing...lol, create hot spots. whatever

i still think it'd be better to run the water...

hook the ---- up with a real temp guage and see if it changes the overall system temp

Better for what though? The turbo or the motor?

So I guess the added benefits/drawbacks are really based on where you live then... ???

I'm up north where the temp has been around 85 lately. I was running mid 14s before I added the cooling lines. I've gotten three 1/4 mile runs in since and I'm running exactly the same.

My engine bay has always been hot and I really don't feel much of a difference other than some extra heat in the vents... I haven't decided if that's the summer temp. change or my imagination yet. ;D

One thing I have noticed is that my spool seems a little slower and my acceleration seems slower... Which blows my mind because my times haven't changed. I do have the cooling rerouted around the TB so maybe the extra heat is having some affect on the feel, but performance seems unchanged.

My $0.59

bypass the throttle body coolant line and go directly into the eacv to the turbo, and then from the turbo to the block?

haaaaaa... hotspots on a turbo... thats guts... don't run the water dude... it's only there to make sure the turbo last over 60,000+ miles without shutting down propperly (cooldown)...
