i am a somewhat noob to turbo specifics so, when i was mapping out how many mandrel bends im gonna need i noticed than when my turbo is bolted up the silver side of the turbo will be facing to the front bumper. what i was wondering is if it mattered which way it was pointing. because i noticed on alot of other cars the silver outlet is pointing to the ground, will the direction matter as far as spool or anything? and, is this the turbine side or exhaust? i hate silver and brown side

 

"Turbine side" and "Exhaust side" are the same thing, think of it as the "exhaust turbine" because that's what it is...(the silver side is the compressor side)...and, no it will not matter what direction it is facing...just try to clock the turbo so you have as few sharp bends as possible...less bends = better flow = quicker spool (but it's really trivial, unless you have and extreme amount of bends in your charge pipes, it's not really going to make much difference)

 

Just point the compressor outlet (silver) towards where there is the most room to run charge pipes.
