I picked some dsm 450s up from the junkyard today and decided to try to install them. All i new about them was that the bottom seal needs to be made bigger. So i just made it alittle bigger until they fit in there snugly. Was there anything i should of done other then that Should i also do anything else?? They seemed to fit fine but i noticed the whatever that is right below the o ring on them isnt really sitting sung against top of the fuel rail?? Should i of used the one from my old injectors Also i noticed the 450s injector tip doesnt stick down as low as the old ones did in the manifold?? Does it matter at all??

i used all the old seals on mine. i hated modifying the bottom seal.

 

i have that same little gap except for me its between the top of the bottom oring and the bottom of the fat part in the injector. my friends is the same way. no leaks with either of ours. i think it just depends on how far up the fuel rail you shove the injector

 

alright cool. Thanks guys. I got a couple days until i can find out if they will leak becuase im waiting on some other parts so i will let you guys know what happens when i get it running again in the next couple days.

BTW: so does it matter at all that the tip of the injector isnt sitting as low as the old ones did in the manifold??
